Veggie Burgers

This is my very favourite veggie burger recipe. It has actually fooled the kids and now they know its a veggie burger and like it tonnes! I make them and freeze some because it is a big batch. To cut back on calories you could eat this in-between butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce bun size leaves.
1 Tbsp veggie oil
1 onion
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp cumin
1  1/2 Tbsp chili powder
1 19 oz can black beans drained, rinsed and thoroughly pureed in food processor
1 tsp oregano
1/4 parsley or cilantro chopped
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1/2 cup almonds roasted and chopped
1 cup sunflower seeds roasted and chopped
3 cups fine bread crumbs
1/2 cup soya sauce
5 eggs
2 cups carrots shredded
2 cups oats
flour for dredging
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
In a large pan saute onions and garlic in oil. Place in large mixing bowl and cool a bit. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and shape into patties. Dredge in flour. Heat second amount of oil and brown burgers on both sides. Might need to do in batches with a little more oil. Enjoy with bun or lettuce bun, topped with tzatziki sauce and sprouts and whatever else you choose.
